Free Prostate Screening Offered at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital

Prostate Cancer is one of the leading killers of men and each year more than 150,000 men find out they have prostate cancer. Cancer of the prostate can go undetected for years because there may be no symptoms. The only way to detect prostate cancer in its earliest and most curable stage is by getting a prostate cancer screening which consists of a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) blood test, and a Digital Rectal Exam (DRE).

Sibling Class Offered at Hospital

On Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys will conduct a Sibling Class for children, ages 3 to 10, whose mother is expecting the arrival of a new baby. The class will be held in the conference room #1 on the first floor.

Super Sitter Training Course Offered at Hospital

Joint Township District Memorial Hospital is pleased to once again offer our Super Sitters babysitting training course. Super Sitters is a complete babysitting program developed by Dr. Lee Salk and Jay Litvin. The purpose of the program is to prepare sitters for the physical, psychological, and emotional needs of the children they are caring for.

The JTD Hospital Foundation recently elected Courtney Burton to the Board of Directors. The Foundation is the fund raising arm of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital and is an affiliate of the Grand Lake Health System.

JTD Hospital Foundation Nets over $43,000 from Golf Classic

The 18th annual JTD Hospital Foundation held recently at Arrowhead Golf Club in Minster, Ohio raised over $43,000 in net profit to benefit Grand Lake Hospice and JTD Hospital Foundation. Since the inception of the golf outing over $317,000 in net profit has been raised to support programs, services and equipment for the Hospital.
